Raymond Burke BA Hons Lit 1st class, PGDE, is a writer/ teacher / performer who lives in East Kilbride, seven miles south of Glasgow, Scotland. 

He was awarded a first class honours degree in Scottish Literature and English Studies from Stirling University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Strathclyde.

As an actor, Raymond was one of the prime movers in the creation of the Arches Theatre in Glasgow and has worked for over twenty years, writing, directing and performing for Hopscotch Theatre Company in Govan. Most recently, he has completed commisions for Fizzgig Theatre and Baldy Bane. Raymond has also spent the past 15 years as assistant director and hearse driver for Pauline Goldsmith's long running hit, 'Bright Colours Only.'

Raymond has completed over fifty professional writing commissions for theatre as well as screenwriting, poetry and prose. He is a regular contributor to arts quarterly, The Drouth, and also provides creative writing workshops for teenagers and adults around Scotland. He recently workshopped and directed three short films for Fuse Youth Group, Glasgow.

Raymond's own 'Metaphoric Table' show has been touring arts festivals around Scotland since 2017.
